| Founded in August 1986 as a branch of Clifford Cohen & Co, the practice became Clifford Cohen & Foster in 1987 when David Foster became Managing Partner. Martin Cohen, one of the original founding Partners, is based at the Crumpsall branch office.  Under the GLP banner from 2004, the office has traditionally dealt with a wide range of legal matters and in recent years has specialised in criminal defence matters, family law, conveyancing and personal injury.
From 1st April 2012, the practice acquired as a branch office, the former practice of GLP Solicitors (Crumpsall) based at 100, Crumpsall Lane, Crumpsall, Manchester M8 5SG. David Foster is a well-known defendent solicitor in the north Manchester courts, and is on the Law Society's 'Duty Solicitor' scheme.
